Jonathan is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Logic, and Scientific Method at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Jonathan's current research focuses on how the resources of political philosophy help illuminate the ethics of war. In particular, it develops a novel account of relevance of political obligations to the justification of harm. He also has a longstanding interest in the ethics of 'irregular' armed conflicts, such as civil wars, rebellions and revolution.
